Easy Woodworking Project to Make with Kids // Beginner Woodworking Projects

Since a lot of us are stuck at home with our kids now, I figured I would show you guys a few quick and simple woodworking projects you can make with your kids.

DISCLAIMER: Woodworking is VERY dangerous. I demonstrate things in this video, like using power tools, as the prep work that should be done for these projects. I am in NO WAY suggesting you should let your children use these tools. Be smart! Decide whether or not your child is capable of focusing and listening to instructions before you let them touch any sort of tool.

Be SMART! Be SAFE! Have FUN!

Huge thank you to Woodcraft for sponsoring what I do! A great way to get your kids involved in woodworking is to let them use hand tools. The spokeshave is one of the safest handtools to use and kids love using them!

  1. This is great! If you don’t mind I’m going to try and integrate this into my classes. So many kids are interested in woodworking and I’ve been trying to find things that both parents and kids can do together. Keep up the truly awesome work. 😁

  2. You saved the day! My grandson is coming to visit and is asking to build something. Your ideas are perfect. Thank you so much.

  5. Your kids love to sand? Lucky you. Sanding is my least favorite part of woodworking, and I think my kids hate it even more than I do.

  6. Fantastic way to give children a love for woodworking! And you know they will pass that along to your grandchildren!
    All because of your creativity!

  7. I saw you using something in a video yesterday that you mentioned was in the description. So I followed the Amazon link and there wasa video on it of it in action (can’t remember what it was now) but there was a young woman using a bunch of power tools. Saws, sanders, planer etc and then in the background of this tiny shop there is a little girl no more than 2. Absolutely no ppe on the little girl but the mom was all proud of herself for wearing hearing and no eye protection herself. I’m actually surprised Amazon allowed that

  8. Looking for cool projects from a variety of creators to feature in a playlist on our channel, and this definitely caught my eye. These are such awesome ideas!

  9. I just found your channel and Subed, I will be guiding my middle school students through some of these projects. Thanks so much for the video!

  10. You’re so precise in making that slanted dowel. I can’t do that perfectly that I need to rely on jigs, otherwise CNC, LOL. Would appreciate if you could visit my newly started channel. Thanks! 🙂

  11. the idea of a phone speaker that would be really interesting – taking your idea a little farther, is to try replicating a Antique RCA Hand Crank Victrola

  12. When I was a kid , when I tried making things, I had a small hand saw, coping saw, rasp, files, and such…You can make a lot with that, and all the cuts you did on the bandsaw could be done (just slower) with a hand saw. 🙂

  13. Very Cool. Just finished holiday presents from your recent video (will send you an Instagram Pix). My nephew is getting a piggy bank for his holiday present. Aloha … tom
