  1. Awesome
The goons are going to B and Q ( uk ) and paying £90 each for a 300mm wide 2400mm long
Meaning your walll you did there would have cost about £1000
Im sure you saved £££££££ soing it this way

  2. 1 x 2’s from any lumber yard are going to be bowed and twisted. You’ll need to spend an hour hand picking straight ones from the pile. No way you buy a bundle and they are ready to go.

  3. You just pin-nailed the slats into the drywall?

Most of those nails aren’t going into the studs. Those slats are gonna fall off!

  4. Hi, I watched this video and loved the wall panels you did. I followed all that you did and said to the holy spirit, will you help me? The next thing I knew I had wall panels, stained and put on my den wall perfectly spaced. You were right, it wasn’t hard and I really love the results. Thank you for this video. My office/den has a really nice vibe now with the addition of the panels. Thanks again for sharing this cool idea. ❤

  5. What size brads did you use. I am putting mine up with 1 1/2 from the side but it’s not holding very tight. I think I Need 2 inch instead.

  6. Just for clarity. Installing Wood slats on top of drywall as shown here is completely different from installing wood paneling.

  7. Great wall, aweful lighting choice. led bulbs with no cover is painful to the eyes, even when not looking directly at it. If the room needs more light, use tall floor lamps. Overhead lighting is oppressive

  8. Beautiful ❤ But… this is when you pull all your hair out because you realize your room is not square 😂

  9. The drywall texture screams minimum wage day laborer. I’d cover it up too, not that the wood panel look is any better. It reminds me of an 80’s trailer home.

  10. Such a great job! The only thing I can be anxious about is all the dust that may collect in between the slabs if not routinely cleaned occasionally, though. 😅

  11. If you want to turn this into a diffusion as well as sound absorption, which will certainly help to sound of your room, I’m pretty sure you can add felt padding behind these.😊

  12. Remenber my dad doing this in the late sixties. He put black fabric on the wall, furred each strip with like a 1×1, then about a 2" wide rip of paneling similar in color to this to finish each strip. looked exactly like this when finished. He did it for acoustics, He had his Hammond B3 setup in front of it. Had flashbacks when you guys did it. Not for everybody but I like it!

  13. Nothing better than a slat wall made of pine stained with Early American Minwax to give that 1970’s DIY Weekend Warrior look.

  14. I’ve always liked painted wood paneling. Shame what used to be a cheap wall covering is so hard to come by these days.

  15. This is far from the 1970s Brady Bunch wood paneling den look. I like it. Even with that mid century lighting, it’s new retro vintage.
